A Castletown man who told police they were "scum" after punching an officer in the head has been jailed.
22-year-old Christopher David Lunt, of Malew Street, also damaged two emergency vehicles during an outburst on March 15th.
He was spotted by a member of the public using a rock to damage the patrol car and a transit van outside Castletown Police Station.
A male officer pursued Lunt who went on to throw a "haymaker" punch at him - he was sprayed with PAVA incapacitatant spray and after arrest told cops "I hate you - you're all scum".
£1,500 of damage was caused to the car and £400 to the van - Lunt later pleaded guilty to two counts of damaging property and assaulting the officer.
At Douglas Courthouse last week he was sentenced to 24 weeks in custody for the offences - he also received an additional nine week sentence for breaching a previous sentence.
